Breast Augmentation Surgery

Published:October 17th, 2010

The popularity of breast augmentation surgery continues to grow in popularity. Each year, hundreds of thousands of women undergo these procedures. However, evidence pointing to health complications caused by these surgeries continues to grow. That, coupled with the possibility of repeat surgeries being needed, and the extreme financial costs, has many women searching for natural alternatives that can help increase breast size.

There are three main types of implants: saline, silicone, and soybean. Unfortunately, there have been very few studies conducted to determine the long term safety of these implants. Few women are truly aware of the cost and risks of breast augmentation surgery.

Consider this FDA information in relation to breast implants:

*Since implants do not last a lifetime, it is likely that at some point a rupture, or other problem will occur and they will need to be removed.
*Implants often cause other health issues and complications, meaning additional operations and surgeries may be required.
*Often, the desired result of the surgery is not achieved, and cannot be reversed. Botched breast augmentation surgeries are all too common. A quick internet search of these surgeries will show you some of the unfortunate results.
*Pain, loss of nipple sensitivity, rupture, asymmetry, inflation, severe infections as well as other complications are all very real possibilities.

With the exception of reconstruction, breast augmentation surgery is considered elective surgery, and is not covered by health insurance. Doctor visits and additional procedures are not covered either. Keep in mind that the follow-up costs can far exceed the cost of the original surgery.

So what alternative is available to women wishing to increase the size of their bust? Significant results are being found in natural methods such as herbal supplements.

After researching the risks, viewing photos, and adding up the costs, many women decide that surgery just might not be worth it. Most find that natural supplements are an effective and viable alternative. More research needs to be done, but these natural breast enhancers are worth checking out as they may be able to increase breast size and help avoid surgery.

It is advised that anyone considering breast augmentation surgery consult with a doctor to determine risk, cost, and other factors that you need to know. This will allow you to make an educated decision.
