Silicone Breast Implants

Silicone breast implants are a hotly debated topic among individuals interested in having breast augmentation surgery. At the time of this article’s creation silicone implants are only allowed for reconstructive surgery and surgical revision operations. The only approved augmentation surgery types for breast enhancement include the addition of body fat or saline solution implants.

The reason for the ban on silicone breast implant operations is the fact that silicone can produce toxic adverse reactions in the body if the implant ruptures or begins to leak. Once the silicone enters the bloodstream the individual may end up fighting for their lives as horrible internal damage occurs. There is no issue such as this with saline implants.

Individuals still want silicone implants despite the risk, however. The silicone style implants have a more realistic feel and look to them. There have been many wonderful advancements in the implant technology recently. These advances have created cohesive gel variants of the older silicone implants. These implants utilize silicone with a more cohesive structure meant to greatly reduce the ability to leak into the blood stream.

It should be noted, however, that no matter what type of implant an individual receives the reality is that they will break down. Silicone implants are especially dangerous as they age. Once they begin to break down they will rupture and the dangerous substance will be loose in the body. Even though saline implants aren’t as dangerous they will break down as well. Despite the expense, these breast augmentations are not meant to last an entire life time.

There are alternatives to these procedures. These alternatives are available via natural herbal supplementation. While more medical research needs to be conducted, these products are rapidly proving themselves to be effective for promoting to growth of larger, firmer, natural breasts.

When an individual desires to have larger breasts they need to consult a physician and consider all of their alternatives. Breast implant surgery is the quickest method to larger, perky, breasts. However, it does come with many draw backs. A physician will be able to explain all of the perks and detractors for this type of surgery.
